Footprints in the mud

Do you know the famous poem about the person questioning why were they alone in a particularly difficult time in their life, they look back and there is only one set of footprints?

Sometimes its preferable not to see other footprints.

Just another lovely vista...

Maurice and I hike for different reasons. He loves the outdoors and the rigorous activity. I on the other hand... well, fortunately I love taking pictures. And I love taking pictures of this:

Okay now I may post more often- because now that I have figured out how to post from my phone... well that's just perfect! I am not always at the forefront of technology but I am not at the tail-end either. BTW: This was in April. We were still waiting on spring.

I am in the process of writing!

Yup I am writing a post for the library's website (if I can get time at work-) and I will post it here too in the next week or too. In the meantime, I've done a little housekeeping because I needed to shed my winter coat and put up some spring colors.

Hope you enjoy my little wild cactus flower! They are rare and to be savored!

Blogging Break

I think I have to just admit that I am taking a break from blogging. At first it was just January and now it's another month since I've posted and I have to admit to you all that I am taking a break and I don't just how long it will be before I come back. I haven't been writing much and I need to do that. I haven't been out taking pictures very much either because when we walk/hike the landscape isn't terribly inspiring (too gray/brown) so there just isn't much to post. I drop by your blogs and comment when I have something I must say but I am not feeling terribly chatty either, I guess. So, I guess I hope you will just be patient with me while I sort out family and personal stuff, get my writing finished, and decide what I am going to do about this blog in general (which is another problem).

I am heartened by the first signs of spring here- this was two weeks ago. It was 60 degrees here on a Sunday afternoon. We've had snow and some pretty cold weather around since but we're headed the right direction as far as I am concerned- and my pollen irritated eyes & nose tell me the same! ;)
It's currently 50 degrees and the snow is in major meldown mode! Woohoo!
