Meanderings of a Wandering Mind

A little political blogging over at the other site. I'd almost decided not to use it for politics and I still might do most political stuff here but I had a project at work where they asked about blogging and I sent them the link to this blog which means nothing much... maybe?? Except that I probably should be cautious and not talk about local politics here so that kind of blogging will go on there and as long as I am doing that I might as well post this particular blog there too.

Why you can't compare apples to oranges

Or digitally downloaded music to ebooks.

I often hear the publishing industry compared to the music industry- both by authors and by people in the media. Time to get with it! They say. Times are different now! The digital age has changed everything! The music industry learned this in the early part of 2000 and it is about time for the book industry to adjust.

A secret garden...

Sometimes it feels as though I have found a secret place that has been, if not untouched, unspoilt by humans. The sounds are all of nature: bees humming, birds coohooing, trees whispering and a breaking limb as a lithe creature steps gingerly through the undergrowth...

Death and Politics in the real world

At a time when there are riots and social unrest all over the world, including London (and if you don't think it has anything to do with the economic situation, read this) I think it's time to try something new-  Real Change.

The past...

August 1st, (Colorado Day!) Mo and I went on a quest to find the town where his mother was born. As luck would have it, we stumbled upon the tiny town in southern Colorado called Trinchera.  Once there he brilliantly headed to the post office whose post mistress then directed him to her sister who had ties to the local historical society. Fortune hung on a bit longer and she pointed him toward a small rock home that lay some distance from the town that fit the description that had been given him by his mother years earlier...

The cute...

Sometimes you get to photograph the cute. This was one of those days!
Smile for the camera!!!
Plus, political blogging at Meanderings of a Wandering Mind! I know I said I was going to put that stuff here, but I am still waffling. Today it's there. Anyway, good stuff from Keith Olbermann.

Mia Ammisione! or My Big Confession

As we nears summer's dogdays, (and while I realize that parts of Central U.S. are suffering under a heatwave, and not to be insensensitve, but...) I must say, I loathe to see it's end.

But perhaps I should explain or rather confess...
