Motherhood

When our children are young, our instinct is to look over their shoulders and make sure they're not biting off more than they can chew. It's perfectly natural for that little adventurer to keep mom on her toes...
Generally every waking moment is filled with exploration
wading in waters that are a little too deep
setting off on roads that are a little to steep
and attempting to step beyond the boundaries of acceptable behavior...
But there are those rare moments when we find blissful rest...

and snake our faces toward the sun

    1. I didn't even think about how well this fit with Mother's Day. Sometimes the creative mind has a mind of it's own. Glad you enjoyed it.

  4. I definitely like my mother more than my father. He was just kind of a selfish bastard. I guess everyone is really. But my mother was much more selfless. She deserved better.

    1. Ugh. I know what you're saying Michael. Mother's/Father's Day comes with so much stuff attached. And it's too easy to say that Ozzy and Harriet or the Brady Bunch parents set up an unrealistic standard. Some of us just didn't have great childhoods. Whatcha gonna do?

  5. Mother's Day was different for us this year. I was blessed with such wonderful parents. Unfortunately these holidays only make everything a little bit harder. Am thankful for so many wonderful memories, though.

Your pics are gorgeous! Love them all.

    1. Thanks Misha! The Tiger pic is one of my faves even though it's a little faded. I was so happy to catch that look on her face at that moment.
