The Mazy Dazy Thing

This is a URL...
well, a code for a URL that has been translated into QR code

This particular one is the URL for my blog which has been translated into a QR code by a QR code generator. According to the information I was reading, it is an easy way to transfer a URL without having to type in a long series of letters, numbers, and slashes into a smartphone. There is the potential for the library to use the QR code linking a book to catalog records, to it's book cover and to reviews, and possibly for marketing by placing them throughout the city (by publishers???)
Any other ideas, techies?
How about you conspiracy theorists?
Can't wait to hear what you think!
Oh and in case you want to make one for your blog you can do it here but there are several other sites: Kwaya, ZXing Project, and Maestro but I made this at delivr http://delivr.com/qr-code-generator

And just for fun here's a Youtube video. You can see how much easier this would be to send to your cell phone, rather than typing in that lengthy URL on a Youtube video!
(If they look different- one is a png file and the other is a jpg)

  1. I don't know why, but that image of the scan bar code thing gives me anxiety. I feel like everything is being coded and cataloged...like I'm being watched by someone. It reminds me of that time Sculley of the X-Files was in a supermarket, had a strange thing in a tube and scanned it on the register and it worked and the register went bonkers.

  2. Cool! At first I thought it was a puzzle, like a Sudoko puzzle or something. I wonder how long it'll be before we'll have QR code tatooed to our foreheads? ;-)

  3. I was thinking of getting a QR code for my blog and putting it on my shoulder. But these two volleyball players did it first -- using a different part of the body.
